Do you feel any empathy for the suspects? Detectives believe the victim's friend holds the key to finding the killers, but he's nowhere to be found. Oh well, due process I guess. What would it be like to be followed by a camera if you were a suspect or a victim's family member? Most of the episodes are incredibly interesting and require creative police work to solve. In Dallas, a young father is ambushed at a gas station and Detective Steve David needs to track down the killers, before the trail goes cold. Noaadays I don't know-they seem like actors almost. . Law Enforcement agencies are racing against the clock to solve each case.

Though The First 48's content isn't for younger viewers, certain episodes could provide reality checks for teens who are fascinated by crime dramas that glorify both violence and police work. Weird camera shots with what appears to be staged lighting. In Cleveland, a young father is executed in his home and his family is terrorized by masked gunmen. Oddly enough it relaxes me to know that there are hard working people out there doing their best to lock up the bad guys. The show is edited fantastically and it's the television equivalent of a page turner.

Tulsa I don't like that much either. Every day that passes people are murdered leaving behind loved ones. Parents need to know that this real-life homicide investigation docudrama features extremely graphic scenes and intense emotional moments. My favorite season was the first and some of the real life characters are on other documentaries on A and E. Then in Dallas, a case of three friends executed outside a night club takes a turn when detectives discover it was caught on video. What are the most effective methods for solving these crimes? I'm not sure why we are only getting one episode a month now I don't have cable, only streaming but I love this show. Viewers watch suspects' interrogations, hear phone calls from tipsters, see crime scene investigators process evidence, and hear from detectives as they deal with the often-emotional aspects of their work, from collecting a confession to receiving hugs from grateful family members when a suspect is arrested. But Cepero will need the community's help to get the brazen killers off the street. As the investigation unfolds, further horrors are revealed and Detective Scott DeMeester must act fast before his suspect kills again. Using the shocking surveillance footage of the crime to piece together what happened, the homicide team works around the clock to bring the killers to justice. The show takes you from the moment the call comes in until the solving of the cases and all the internal work that goes into gathering evidence and following leads. John Curcio's hunt for the suspects leads to a surprising discovery. Then in Miami, a beloved local rapper is gunned down at his car wash and Detectives suspect it was an inside job. I also like a glimpse into the detectives themselves, their lives, their families, how it affects them the job. Detectives Jeffrey Vappie and Tim Bender suspect a woman close to the victimthe victim may have arranged the shooting, but they need hard evidence to prove it--and quickly. It is just so interesting to see what goes into solving a murder case - from the hard work of the detectives, to the help of the witnesses if there are any, or if they are willing to come forward , to the forensic evidence left behind by the killer.

Without any leads, Detectives Ignatius Sowa and Raymond Diaz must rely on an outraged community to help track down his killers. Detectives Scott Sayers and Esteban Montenegro discover that she may have been killed for her silence. It is true to how detectives work murders, just how reliant they are on information and the cooperation of family, friends, neighbors and coworkers of victims. It almost resembles a scripted tv show. Then, in Dallas, an innocent teen is gunned down with an assault rifle, putting detectives on the hunt for a dangerous killer. In the episode about the Memphis high school shooting, for example, viewers see the dead body of a 17-year-old boy slumped over in the passenger seat of a car and get a glimpse of a cell phone stained with blood.

When an innocent life is lost, detectives from across the country jump into action. I find that 48 does a great job of showing the ins and outs of a criminal homicide investigation, without exploiting the victims and their families. Each episode features the details of several murders; some feature other violent crimes, as well, such as rape and aggravated robbery. What are the extenuating circumstances of the crimes? I wish they'd just do it like they did for years-keep it simple and get out of the way. Then in Cleveland, a young father is shot in the head trying to break up a fight. The First 48 is one of my favorite shows of all time. Then in Dallas, a 72-year-old grandmother is found beaten to death inside her home.

But be prepared for graphic scenes, including footage of dead bodies and blood. Gritty and fast-paced, it takes viewers behind the scenes of real-life investigations with unprecedented access to crime scenes, autopsies, forensic processing, and interrogations. A mysterious 911 call leads Detectives Ignatius Sowa and Raymond Diaz on the hunt for an elusive killer. But the key to finding his killer may be right in front of them. Statistics prove that the chances of solving a case are literally cut in half if no significant leads are turned up in the first 48 hours. Using the shocking surveillance footage of the crime to piece together what happened, the homicide team works around the clock to bring the killers to justice.

I only wish they would come out with more episodes as I have seen everyone, some 2 or 3 times as A and E shows them throughout the week. They say that if a crime isn't solved in the first 48 hours, the chances of it ever being solved drop considerably - so the first 48 are the most important in terms of finding witnesses and evidence - and through this show you get to follow the homicide detectives around as they do their best to solve each murder within the first 48 and beyond. For the first time they almost appear scripted. Then in Dallas, Detective Steve David races to identify a woman found shot and dumped on the side of the highway.
